Profhilo is IBSA’s bio-remodelling injectable: 64 mg of hyaluronic acid in one 2 mL syringe — 32 mg high-molecular-weight plus 32 mg low-molecular-weight HA bound into hybrid cooperative complexes by NAHYCO® thermal technology with no chemical cross-linker. Injected at five Bio Aesthetic Points per side of the face, 2 mL per session and two sessions a month apart, it is positioned for skin laxity of the face, neck and body. CE-marked since 2015; professional use only.
What is Profhilo?
Profhilo is IBSA’s bio-remodelling injectable and one of the highest-concentration HA skin products on the market: 64 mg of hyaluronic acid in a single 2 mL syringe, split equally between high-molecular-weight (1100–1400 kDa) and low-molecular-weight (80–100 kDa) HA. IBSA’s patented NAHYCO® process binds the two fractions thermally into hybrid cooperative complexes without any chemical cross-linker, giving a product that spreads widely through tissue yet persists longer than a plain non-cross-linked HA. On the market since 2015 and CE-marked.
How is Profhilo different from a filler or a skin booster?
It is neither. A filler is placed to add volume; a classic booster hydrates the dermis with fine microdroplets. Profhilo is injected as a small number of 0.2 mL boluses at five Bio Aesthetic Points (BAP) per side of the face, from which its low-viscosity complex spreads to address skin laxity across the malar, submalar and jawline zones. A standard course is two 2 mL sessions one month apart, with maintenance as the clinician sees fit.
| Profhilo | Hybrid HA 64 mg/2 mL, no cross-linker · 5 BAP points per side · laxity / bio-remodelling |
|---|---|
| SKINVIVE by Juvéderm | Cross-linked HA 12 mg/mL microdroplets · cheek smoothness |
| Restylane Skinboosters Vital | Stabilised HA 20 mg/mL · hydration and elasticity |
| Hyaron | Non-cross-linked HA 10 mg/mL · hydration mesotherapy |
What do clinics use Profhilo for?
IBSA positions it for laxity and loss of skin quality of the face — particularly the malar-zygomatic and submalar areas — and for the neck and body. Typical delivery is the BAP technique with a 29G ½″ needle, 0.2 mL per point, 2 mL per session, two sessions one month apart. Suitability, technique and maintenance intervals are decided by the treating clinician.

Frequently asked questions
What is Profhilo used for?
For skin laxity and loss of skin quality — chiefly the malar, submalar and jawline areas of the face, and also the neck and body — as a bio-remodelling treatment rather than a volumising filler.
Is Profhilo a filler?
No. It contains no chemical cross-linker and is not designed to add volume. It spreads from a few injection points to improve skin quality and laxity.
How much hyaluronic acid does it contain?
64 mg per 2 mL syringe — 32 mg high-molecular-weight HA and 32 mg low-molecular-weight HA, one of the highest HA concentrations in a skin injectable.
What is the standard Profhilo protocol?
The BAP technique: five points per side of the face, 0.2 mL per point, 2 mL per session, two sessions one month apart, then maintenance as the clinician decides. A 29G ½″ needle is typically used.
Does Profhilo contain lidocaine?
No. The composition is hyaluronic acid sodium salt in buffered saline only.
